Mentoring two Google Summer of Code students on :Project: Remoting over Apache Kafka with Kubernetes featuresThe current version of Remoting over Apache Kafka plugin requires users to manually configure the entire system which includes Zookeeper, Kafka and remoting agents. It also doesn't support dynamic agent provisioning so scalability is harder to achieve. This project aims to solve Out-of-the-box solution to provision Apache Kafka cluster. More specifically, users can connect with a Kafka server seamlessly by either local binary files, Kubernetes container or from a Software-as-a-Service provider. Dynamic agent provisioning in a Kubernetes cluster. This can be done by implementing Cloud API or integrate Kafka agent launcher in Kubernetes plugin.Project: Role Strategy Plugin Performance ImprovementThe project revolves around improving the performance of the Role Strategy Plugin, the most downloaded authorization plugin for Jenkins (which is not included in Jenkins itself). The plugin allows Jenkins’ administrators to assign permissions (called a “role”) to projects (and Jenkins nodes) whose names match the regular expression for that role. On adding a large number of roles to the plugin, a significant slowdown is visible in the Jenkins Web UI. The project aims to improve the end user experience by improving the performance of the plugin and creating a reliable performance testing framework which can be used in other Jenkins plugins.

Mentoring two Google Summer of Code students on :Project: Jenkins Remoting over Message Bus/QueueCurrent versions of Jenkins Remoting are based on the TCP protocol. If it fails, the agent connection and the build fails as well. There are also issues with traffic prioritization and multi-agent communications, which impact Jenkins stability and scalability.This project aims an update of Remoting and Jenkins in order to add support of one of the popular message queues or buses (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, etc.) as a fault-tolerant communication layer in Jenkins.Project: Code Coverage API PluginThere are a lot of plugins which currently implement code coverage (clover plugin, cobertura plugin, clover PHP plugin, etc), however they all are using similar charts and similar content. Instead of having one plugin for each code coverage result it would be best if we could merge them all into one plugin which will handle code coverage.

Google Code-in is an annual programming competition hosted by Google Inc. That allows pre-university students to complete tasks specified by various, partnering open source organizations. Mentoring students participating in Google Code-in for various tasks under the JBoss Community.

Joomla CMS mainly consists with server side scripting language PHP and it doesn’t have authority to manage client side scripting. In that case Joomla uses collection of custom written JavaScript libraries as client side scripting. It’s not that much easy to manage these lack of backend scripting and front end JavaScript custom written libraries. Because of this complexity, to make sure all these component perform as they should. So now testing becomes a massive requirement. Hence Joomla core written by PHP and the comprehensive test coverage completely done. Such a comprehensive test coverage already done for JavaScript custom written libraries. The main objective of this project is to increase this test coverage and also new improvements based on Jasmine and Karma for latest Joomla 4

It offers an integrated enterprise platform for APIs, applications, and web services. I worked with WSO2-IoTS team during my internship period. WSO2 IoT Server (IoTS) provides the essential capabilities required to implement a scalable server-side IoT Platform.Tools & Technologies: Java, Tomcat, Apache CXF, JAX-RS, Swagger, OSGi, MySQL, H2, Maven, Jacoco, Jenkins, Apache Spark Queries, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, AWS S3, Apache ActiveMQ, MQTT, XMPP, WSS, RPi, Arduino, Android EMM, iOS EMM.

Moodle Mobile is the officical Android and IOS mobile application provide by Moodle. Mainly it aims at students and teachers in universities and high schools. This project mainly involves with Moodle mobile app. Protractor runs tests against AngularJS application running in a real browser, interacting with it as a user would. The main objective is to implement testing framework and add more tests to the app and also document the set-up process in the Moodle developers wiki.
