I am currently a Machine Learning Engineer - L5 at Amazon. Since 2019, I am working in the Healthtech NLP team to develop Alexa Natural Language Understanding (NLU) features for Amazon Halo fitness band, Echo buds and more in health and fitness domain. My responsibilities include developing deterministic and statistical ML models for NLU support (domain/ intent classification and slot tagging for Alexa customer utterances) and other projects. Previously at Amazon (2016-2019), I worked in the Amazon Web Services org as a Software Developer. As part of the platform team, I worked on multiple projects that helped launch a new AWS service - Alexa for Business - https://aws.amazon.com/alexaforbusiness/. I graduated from USC Viterbi School of Engineering as a MS in Computer Science in 2016. I completed my Bachelors in Computer Science from MIT Pune (India). During undergraduate studies, as a part of Robotics team (25 students), won the national competition (after competing with 100+ universities) and represented India at the ABU Pacific International Robocon (Robotics Contest) held in Hong Kong in 2012 and also Vietnam in 2013.
