BALLARPUR INDUSTRIES LTD (BILT) -The THAPAR GROUP. I was the locational HR head for operations in various locations in Gujarat viz: Khavda, Singach ,Jamnagar & Baroda - Incharge of HR, IR, Admin and CSR for the operations in above locations. Reported functionally to GM-People Development & Communications based at GURGAON H.O. and administratively to VP-Operations. Human Resource planning, Recruiting, Performance Management from goal setting, performance assessment to rewards determination and dissemination at the locations as per the corporate guidelines.  Salary and Perks Management. Conducting salary survey with Benchmarked companies. All statutory compliance and liaison with Govt. Authorities. Assessment of training needs and planning HR development and conducting the same as per the training plan Negotiation with Union on IR issues and conflict resolution. Negotiated and successfully settled two long term wage settlement involving two unions with INTUC at Khavda and AITUC, BMS at Singach under section 18(3) of Industrial Disputes Act. Ensuring all HR/IR/CSR activities as per corporate HR policy. Maintaining PR Implementing Integrated Quality system in line with ISO 9000, 14000 and OSHAS which has given me invaluable exposure on integration of all the three standards into one.

Large Scale Cement plant ( Now UltraTech Cement) Maintaining personnel record of all employees up to covenanted cadre, statutory compliance,  Canteen and welfare administration Contract labour deployment and regulation.  Statutory compliance of all applicable Labour laws. Negotiating with union, taking disciplinary action, domestic enquiry. Administering appraisal system for all employees up to covenanted cadre. Training need identification and organizing training programmes. Exposed to an appraisal system called “Pajjor”- Integrating MBO, TQM, Potential appraisal, development planning, multi-skilling and multi-tasking and administering rewards in a transparent setting. Gained practical exposure and hands on experience in terminal / retrial benefits, payroll processing, Administration of Time Office. Internal auditor for ISO 9000 & 14000.

ICI INDIA LTD, a subsidiary of ICI plc London. This large scale plant is located in GOMIA, in JHARKHAND.(Now Acquired by AKZO NOBEL of Netherlands) Exposed to shop floor IR in a multi-union environment  contract labour deployment and regulation Involved in administering the voluntary retirement scheme of the company in a major way, where the total staff reduction by way of VRS was over 600 within a span of 6 months in Gomia Works alone. Involved in processing of terminal / retirement benefits in a major way for those opting VRS.
