Abrupt OFF to ON switch occurs in voltage sweeps, while current sweeps reveal intermittent non-volatile states. Remote current-bias write enables conduction modulation. Textile's anisotropic current spreading may facilitate selective memory writing and neuron-like behavior emulation. It also demonstrates the reset WORM effect to revert to the initial resistive state.

Senior Principal ScientistNational Physical Laboratory Jul 2017 - PresentNew Delhi Area, India**NEW beginnings (2024 onwards)**(1) CoPI for the Project: Establishment and realization of quantum farad (Quantum Impedance standards)At CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, my team is dedicated to investigating the electrical properties of electroconductive textiles and yarns. Our research has resulted in significant discoveries, particularly in highlighting the immense potential of e-textiles/yarns for write once read many (WORM) memristor applications. Additionally, we have introduced the innovative concept of ReWORM (Reset WORM), which holds promising implications for the advancement of smart fabrics and wearable electronics. Our work is driven by the desire to contribute to transformative applications in these cutting-edge fields. One of our notable accomplishments includes the successful demonstration and publication at IEEE, where we highlighted how e-textiles can effectively mimic signal communication with-in a nerve cell.Through my leadership, our work has transcended borders, fostering high-profile research collaborations with esteemed experts like Dr. Alok Dabi, Director of Neurosciences Critical Care Program Department at the University of Texas, USA, and Dr. Ravi Hadimani, Director of the Biomagnetics Laboratory at the Departments of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA.Our team's ingenuity has also led to the development of a simple, cost-effective memristor kit, now showcased at the CSIR-NPL museum. This exhibit serves as an educational tool to introduce the concept to students in schools and colleges. This achievement has been well-received and has garnered recognition within the scientific community. As the Group Leader, my focus remains on advancing scientific knowledge and fostering innovation in the field of electrical textiles, contributing to transformative research and its applications in India and beyond.Current Students:Aakash (PhD Scholar)- memristors -
