Inclusion is my passion; this means engaging in complex conversations to help businesses and individuals understand the psychological and environmental barriers to people having a genuine sense of belonging at work. Innate bias, the ‘us versus them’ mentality, workplace generation gaps and a lack of connection between colleagues are common themes across Flipside’s clients. As the director of Flipside, my job is to lean in, listen, understand the themes presented to me, then carve out solutions which engage people in the ‘why’, inspire them to change their behaviour and to contribute to more inclusive workplaces. Our work at Flipside involves conducting culture reviews, running interactive workshops which use observational humour to engage people from all walks of life, as well as coaching leaders to dive into their blind spots and to inspire excellence and a sense of belonging in their people. Learning to ‘ask not tell’, giving and receiving feedback, having difficult conversations, challenging below the line behaviour, developing cultural intelligence, leaning into curiosity and vulnerability – these are the topics (amongst many others) that drive me and feed into my client work.My key strengths are engaging people in behaviour change, leadership development, coaching, public speaking and supporting clients with challenging issues around bullying and/or poor performance. I have spoken at numerous conferences in New Zealand, the UK and Europe, facilitated or sat on panels, participated in public debates and am very comfortable working with the press.
