In my last role, I have embraced the significant responsibility of steering one of the largest defense service institutes in the country. This position involves the comprehensive management and operation of an establishment that serves around 12,000 members from the tri-services community, overseeing a dynamic environment with a remarkable annual turnover of Rs 23 Crores. My duties extend beyond administrative oversight to ensure the institute remains a cornerstone for service officers, providing them with unparalleled support and facilities. This role requires attention to operational details and the maintenance of the highest standards to cater to the needs of our esteemed members and their families, ensuring their time at the institute is both rewarding and memorable.The operational management of the CSD Canteen under my guidance is another pivotal aspect of my role, with annual sales reaching Rs 40 Crores. This responsibility entails not only the effective management of inventory and supply chains but also the assurance of quality service delivery to our members. Through innovative strategies and keen financial oversight, I have been instrumental in enhancing the canteen's efficiency and customer satisfaction. The role demands a unique blend of strategic planning, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the defence community's needs, all of which I have honed during my tenure. By fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, I aim to contribute significantly to the welfare and satisfaction of our service officers, ensuring that the Defence Service Officers Institute remains a beacon of excellence within the defence community.

Serving as the Deputy Director at the Directorate of Transport at Naval Head Quarters in New Delhi was a role that put me at the heart of strategic logistics and operational planning within the Navy. Tasked with the general administration and centralized procurement of naval transport vehicles—both general and specialist—I managed an annual budget of approximately Rs 200 Crore. This critical function not only ensured the seamless mobility of naval forces but also supported the logistical framework essential for operational readiness and efficiency. My role extended to the general management of vehicle distribution and spearheading infrastructure development projects for vehicle repairs and maintenance. Crafting and implementing policies for transportation and manpower across naval commands and stations required a delicate balance of strategic foresight and practical execution. Coordinating with the Ministry of Defence and various vehicle manufacturers and vendors, I led initiatives that streamlined operations, enhanced service delivery, and fostered stronger relationships between the Navy and its external partners.

In my tenure as Senior Manager at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, I was at the forefront of transformative projects that underscored the Navy's commitment to modernization and operational excellence. My leadership in project management for the installation of air conditioning plants, refrigeration plants, and high-pressure air compressors on board ships and submarines was pivotal in enhancing the living and working conditions for our naval personnel. Overseeing refit planning and supply chain management for approximately 150 ships/submarines under the Western Naval Command, I championed efficiency, reliability, and quality in every project undertaken. The repair and maintenance of critical systems such as refrigeration and air conditioning plants, high-pressure air compressors, and pneumatic systems underscored our commitment to maintaining operational readiness and longevity of our fleet. My role necessitated a deep understanding of technical requirements and the ability to lead cross-functional teams towards achieving collective goals.

My journey began with the foundational responsibility of ensuring the operational efficiency of the complex machinery at the core of our naval platforms. My role evolved significantly over these years, from hands-on maintenance of critical systems like boilers, turbines, power generators, refrigeration and air conditioning plants, to leading strategic operations that ensured the ships' and submarines' peak readiness. This period was not only about honing my technical proficiency but also about developing strong leadership qualities, fostering a culture of excellence, and instilling the principles of diligence, precision, and teamwork. Through managing human resources, conducting training, monitoring accounts and audits, and ensuring the maintenance and operation of essential naval machinery, I contributed significantly to the operational capabilities of our fleet, readying it to meet the challenges of modern naval warfare.
