National Academy Of Vocational Training- Safer Migration Program

I am responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing the vocational skills development component of the Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme. Based at the National Vocational Training Academy (NAVT), I contribute to initiatives aimed at supporting skill training for aspiring migrant workers, working collaboratively to enhance interventions in alignment with NAVT’s goals and priorities.

➥Responsible for various aspects of project management, implementation, monitoring, documentation and reporting.➥Developed mechanisms for skills delivery for potential migrant workers, Involved in policy discussions and participated in high-level political processes to influence the development of labor migration policies. ➥Actively engage in networking, and attend meetings, workshops, and discussions to ensure safe, orderly, and regular migration. Strengthen government capacity to lead initiatives, resulted in enhanced migration processes.➥Enhance project efficiency by collaborating with partners to design annual work plans, budget proposals, and adaptation plans. Implemented effective problem-resolution strategies resulted in efficient project management.➥Assist in the programming and control of resources of the project, prepare budget estimates and expenditure forecasts by analyzing and monitoring the situation of resources as compared to planned activities and make recommendations for adaptation.Major Achievements:➥Supported the Foreign Employment Board Secretariat in implementing vocational skill training for over 9500 potential migrant workers, Resulted in proficient and skilled individuals ready for migration.➥Empowered 500 women for successful migration and employment in Jordan's Garment Industries through technical assistance and facilitation of Garment Machine Operator training.➥Facilitated linking training institutes with NAFEA and Recruitment Agencies for employment linkages with employer pay modalities. ➥Successfully managed 14 partners to deliver training to 1,500+ potential migrant workers and international skill certification to 200+ returning migrants, resulted in improved facilitation for foreign employment.➥Lead a study on Mapping Recruitment Agencies Practices Against Fair Recruitment Principles➥Developed concept note to identify fair recruiter employers and set up a safe migration corridor to promote fair recruitment practice.

➥Achieved project alignment with GON priorities by collaborating with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Labour Employment and Social Security, resulted in improved project design and implementation.➥Accomplished onboard partner NGO and adeptly managed the contract, partnership and assurance.➥Successfully conducted two scoping studies with the support of a consultant to understand the labor market dynamics to design appropriate interventions to solve the constraints in the labour market.➥Successfully pursued the project approval from the Social Welfare Council under the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare.

Kathmandu- Mid Western Region

➥Contributed to the comprehensive process of advertising rehabilitation service provider proposals and assumed leadership in monitoring services provided by public, private, and non-governmental organizations within the assigned region. Also, actively contributed to tracking the participation of affected individuals in services, service provider proposal contracts, delivery of services, and disbursement of funds.➥Partnered with central office specialists/consultants to identify rehabilitation service demand and assess regional service providers, facilitated the development of a comprehensive annual plan for essential services by LSP and/or District offices in the assigned region.➥Successfully managed coordination between various stakeholders, including the District Administrative Office, local peace committee, political parties, and implementing agencies during the pilot phase of the program, Resulted in harmonized relations among political parties with different natures and perspectives.➥Provide program progress reports to key stakeholders, including the Project Coordinator and Chief District Officer, ensuring comprehensive communication. Additionally, generate and submit detailed monthly monitoring and field-visit reports to the Program Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist/TSU for effective program management.➥Assist program monitoring and evaluation specialist and/or training and job placement specialist/micro-small business specialist to verify and report employment/job placement/business startup status of randomly selected participants based on reports submitted by the SPs.➥Led the process of educating individuals affected by the conflict on the type of services available; resulted in more than 6000 conflict-affected people received different services from the project.

Dang, Nepal

➥Contribute to conduct vocational training for over 2000 conflict-affected youth in the Dang district, Achieved an impressive outcome, with 82% of the trained youth securing placements—66% in wage employment and 16% in self-employment.➥Set up an ‘Employment Coordination Committee’ under the leadership of the Dang Chamber of Commerce and Industries to actively seek new job opportunities in the formal labor market, and identify market-driven occupations and trades. Resulted in an exceptional increase in Dang district's performance, highlighted by successful introductions of new training programs and enhanced placements for trained graduates.➥Facilitated the availability of funds for graduates who opted for self-employment with the Youth Self-Employment Fund. As a result, 58 youth benefited from this fund.➥Maintain up-to-date lists of employment opportunities and ensure assessments are accurate and useful.➥Coordinate with TEPP (Training Employment and Placement Provider) and EIG graduate for effective use of the Youth Self Employment Fund and Save the Children Fund.➥Work in line with FNCCI/CCI in developing a business plan for the beneficiaries and link the beneficiaries to the bank➥Collaborate with Regional Project Officers, District Coordinators, and TEPPs to facilitate efficient planning and implementation of C2 activities in the districts, ensured effective liaison with partners for successful program outcomes.➥Provide comprehensive support to the manager, including assistance with database management, planning, supervision, field visits, and the preparation of program success stories. Additionally, contribute to managing and conducting Training of Trainers (ToT) when needed.➥Ensure training providers possess a clear understanding and have conducted thorough research on job opportunities by actively checking and monitoring their efforts. Conduct on-site monitoring of ongoing training, providing detailed progress reports.

Mid Western Region- Surkhet

➥Achieved record-high revenue at Surkhet Trade School, outperforming the other seven trade schools in Nepal.➥Raised a tangible amount of funds to train 120 conflict-affected people by Maoist insurgency.➥Successfully piloted jewelry-making formal training in the Birendranagar market of Surkhet for 40 youths.➥Established a mechanism and guidelines, along with managing funds, to actively promote and enhance women's participation in vocational training programs, resulted in increased inclusivity and empowerment.➥Enhanced FNCCI program reporting efficiency, served as Member Secretary for the Trade School Management Committee, and achieved successful program monitoring and evaluation.
