I have a total of over 40 years of experience, comprising over 17 years in the State Administrative Services of the Govt. of Rajasthan, about 8 years in spearheading insurance sales at a British MNC, about 10 years running the family interior designing business and the last about 5 years devoted to legal practice, creative writing and deep research, and orientation and counseling of aspirants for studies abroad. While my stint with the state government gave me deep insights about the functioning of a government department under a strict regime of compliance, I learnt the nuances of team building, productivity and target management while selling life insurance for an MNC. Closely following the deregulation of InsuranceIndustry in India and after about 17 years of working with the government, I sought voluntary retirement in Oct. 2001, to pursue my passion for insurance with Aviva Life Insurance Company in the agency sales channel. Although the transition from a government job to a highly competitive private sector posed hitherto unknown challenges, it also gave me a fresh perspective about entrepreneurship. This helped me tremendously when I joined the family business of interior designing in the year 2009. With the vertical growth of housing units having gathered a strong groundswell in Gurgaon where we operated, our firm accomplished the successful execution of over 150 projects in 4 years.The last 10 years of my career have been the most elevating and gratifying phase of my career. While the legal practice for about 3 years gave me insights about an understanding about courtcraft, it was in creative writing that I secured indescribable fulfillment. Co-authoring a book on Legal Studies for class XII students of the CBSE curriculum, editing articles to be published in leading journals and counselling and mentoring innumerable students for studies abroad have been some of my accomplishments. I run a firm, titled ‘Future Focus Education Pvt Ltd’, a unique platform completely dedicated to helping youngsters pursue studies abroad and in curating creditable careers. A comprehensive Lawyers’ training course, a course for para-legal cadre, an online basic legal literacy handbook, a book on the burgeoning pendency in Indian courts, and a treatise on ‘Sukhmani Sahib’, a highly revered text of the Sikh faith, are works in progress.
