Mr. Suresh K Krishna is the Chairperson of the Global Leadership Team Funds at Yunus Social Business. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Yunus Social Business Fund Bengaluru and co-founder and partner of Yunus Social Business India Initiatives. He has studied MA in sociology and MPEFB at IIMB, Bengaluru.He has co-founded Grameen Shelters P. Ltd., – A company which develops affordable housing for the low-income households, Avalahalli Investments P. Ltd., CreditAccess Life Insurance Limited and serves as its Director. He is also the Managing Trustee of Navya Disha Trust, a NGO working to improve water, sanitation, financial literacy, supplementary education for school children. He is the co-founder and chairman of Buzz India Trust – A non-profit NGO working towards women empowerment. Prior to this, he was at the helm of affairs at Grameen Koota (currently known as CreditAccess Grameen) since its inception in 1999 as the Managing Director till July 2015 and non-executive director till July 2017. He was instrumental in developing Grameen Koota into a large socially responsible MFI having its outreach in 5 states of India. He has co-founded microfinance industry association namely Microfinance Institutions Network & Association of Karnataka Microfinance Institutions. He has played a very active role nationally & internationally in developing the microfinance sector in India. He also served on board of BinaArtha – An MFI in Indonesia (2015-2019), Mifos.org USA – An open source core banking software for financial services (2010-2019), AKMI – Association of Karnataka Microfinance Institutions (2007-2015), Sa-dhan – The Association of Community Development Finance Institutions (2009-2012) and MFIN – Microfinance Institutions Network (2010-2015) (National Body of NBFC MFIs) and FKCCI (Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry), Financial Inclusion Improves Sanitation and Health (FINISH), Netherlands.He currently serves as Independent Director for Grameen Foundation for Social Impact, Grameen Impact Ventures Private Limited, Centrum Microcredit P. Ltd., Waste Ventures India P. Ltd., S.M.I.L.E. Microfinance Limited., Vishuddh Recycle Private Limited, Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services. Mr. Suresh is a regular speaker & presenter at various national & international forums. He is also passionate about agriculture, social businesses including micro housing, financial literacy, client education, renewable energy, waste management, health care and livelihoods for the poor.
