Key Responsibilities: - Managing the Implementation of Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) tool to study changes in pattern for rice cropping systems across the region for sustainable intensification.- Preparing and presenting reports and data on FPAR and on-farm research for the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) project, which highlighted expansion statuses of SRI crop management practices through training and demonstrations. - Co-leading and organising national and regional workshops such as the National Planning Workshop (NPW) and the Regional Review and Planning Workshop (RRPW) across Cambodia and Vietnam to track progress against set milestones and plan for further interventions. - Reviewing country-specific FPAR reports (for Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam), concept notes and guideline documents to set common ground for conducting on-farm research methodology and plan FPAR activities and training across LMB countries.Key Highlights: • Implemented successful trials of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) through participatory action research to study the impact on improved livelihood, resource use efficiency and the environment.• Managed the evaluation of adoption of crop management practices across the Lower Mekong River region, which led to scaling up and scaling out SRI management practices for better productivity and profitability.• Developed a regional report on a MEL component that highlighted the impact of FPAR research and the status of the adoption of SRI management practices, along with a cost-benefit analysis conducted across the region.

Key Responsibilities: - Conducting on-farm research trials for best practices and applied agronomic research for maize cropping systems by collaborating with the State University extension (outreach) and corn growers in Midwest USA to recommend best management practices for corn production to maximize productivity and profitability.- Coordinating five scientific research projects across 11 partner institutions on field research, systems modelling and extension personnel by implementing standard research protocols for cover crops, soil health, tillage, drainage water management and crop rotation research.- Managing and maintaining agronomic field research on soil, water and yield parameters in the- central database for projects such as yield, plant biomass, soil hydraulic and textural properties and water management.- Managing extension activities such as county field days and producers’ meetings, and developing outreach material including fact sheets and demonstration videos prepared in consultation with principal project investigators.- Co-writing an annual project continuation report for the funding agency, refereed journal articles and conference proceedings papers as per the requirements from farm research groups.Key Highlights: • Supervised conducted cropping systems and plant physiological research by using research farms, a controlled environment and on-farm facilities, and managed technical and support staff across the region by supervising research activities in accordance with milestones set by the farm research group.• Standard protocols for field trials by frequently consulting with the farm research group and principal project investigators, and co-wrote project continuation (2014 and 2015) and the final annual report (2016).• Co-managed the central research database for 35 research sites, which included the university farm and on-farm research sites across the Midwest region, and the data analysis for five publications.
