Served in the Indian Navy for 22 years in the engineering branch and opted for premature retirement in the rank of Commander. Have served on diesel and steam ships and had the opportunity to work in ship repair yards and machinery Trials organizations. Accumulated expertise in vibration monitoring and trending, which helped to optimize equipment performance, thus reducing costs.Most interesting part of my naval career was a longish stint with the indegenisation programme for the Navy's submarine project, which helped me gain an insight as to strengths of our industry. Was successfully associated with indegenising quite a few equipment, thus helping save valuable forex.Post retirement, had a two year stint as Managing Director of a state PSU, specializing in forgings and catering to Railways ,Defence and Aerospace. Had a wonderful experience dealing with unions and motivating them to give their best, which they did. Moved on as CEO, Flash Forge Pvt Ltd, Mumbai , where I worked for three and a half years. This tenure was highly satisfying, wherein we worked on new venture and initiatives and charted out the company' s road map for both short term and long term goals.Presently working as a Consultant for MicroPrecision, Chennai, which deals with manufacturing and fabrication of niche products. Am also involved with skill training initiatives of the state government, with a view to bridge the gap between education and employment.Have a passion for golf and am ever trying to reduce my handicap.
