Leaving a big 3 company like Bain and joining a company which at the time (2011) was relatively unknown, seemed like a risk too big to take for the rest of us. But I remember vividly catching up with her about a month after she had joined Zomato and I asked her about why she took that decision. I still remember her answer. She told me that from a professional perspective, it was extremely important for her to not only love what she does but to also believe in the fact that she would part of something that would change the game and shake up status quo. She was convinced that Zomato was that opportunity. And believe you me, she was so convincing I actually asked her if there was an opportunity for me to join :P. She is one of the few people I admire in their capability of ensuring that while work never suffers, she still maintains a good work life balance. I think anyone lucky enough to have worked with her can vouch for the fact that she can add energy to any team and I am willing to bet that Zomato would not be where it is today, had Surobhi not joined them back in 2011. She will always be one of the people I go to for advice, or to have a drink with. She's great fun to hang out with and is a through and through foodie.
