Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams. -At the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, I have been working on understanding the mechanisms of how commensal gut microbial signals shape systemic immunity. I explained the mechanisms, how pathobiont Lactobacillus reuteri induces Tc1-mediated autoimmune hepatitis (AIH)-like pathology in mice with Tet-methylcytosine-dioxygenase-2 (Tet2) deficiency.-Currently, I am investigating new regulators of parasite-induced mucosal type-2 immunity. To explore the mechanistic studies, I am using novel mouse models and intestinal organoid cultures. These findings may provide novel approaches to modulate mucosal type-2 inflammation to enteric parasitic infections in humans.-At Yale University School of Medicine, I devised a novel role of the Irf5 gene in acute and chronic colitis and enteric infection model. This study demonstrated that IRF5 is required for optimal clearance of enteric invasive pathogens, it also contributes to the cytokines and inflammation observed during intestinal inflammation. During my doctoral research, I have extensively investigated the role of innate and adaptive responses in the Leishmania infection model. To achieve this, I examined the regulation of Toll-Like Receptors (TLRs) and downstream signaling pathways, development and regulation of T cell immune response, therapeutic screening, and vaccine development.Conceptualized, designed, and executed projects for 14 peer-reviewed publications.
