Susan McGee has 20 years of experience in higher education working in the State University of New York system. She is an experienced experience teacher, advisor, and academic coach to predominantly first and second year SUNY students. In her time as faculty, she has focused her attention and skills on retention initiatives supporting first-year students' transition to college including coordinating the classroom with other support services across campus. She has been an active presence in university service & initiatives at department, college and university levels. Susan's academic research focus on Gender and Ethnic studies informs contextual concerns for diverse student populations across race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexuality as students build a sense of community, self, and belonging in college
