An interior and furniture designer who practiced from the 1950’s - 1970’s, his innovative, beautiful work is still relevant today. After successfully selling Underline Communications to The Sandbox Agency, Susan continued in her role as Principal, Managing Director with responsibilities that included client services management, business development, and finance and operations for the New York office.

Susan founded Underline Communications in 2001, a marketing agency that delivered high-performing lifecycle marketing solutions through sophisticated, personalized CRM programs. Clients included BMW Mini, Leading Hotels of the World, Sony, JP Morgan Chase, Verizon, USTA, and American Express. Susan's responsibilities included overall agency management, client services management, and business development. Underline was sold to The Sandbox Agency in February 2015.

Susan served on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Venture Fund, a non-profit organization that helps women entrepreneurs in underserved urban communities to establish thriving businesses. Unique among micro-lenders, WVF offers training, small business loans, and a network of business advisors to help women reach their business goals.

Susan conceived and launched BKLYN magazine, a quarterly city magazine conceived and published for Heart of Brooklyn, a non-profit cultural partnership among six of Brooklyn’s most prestigious cultural institutions: Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn Public Library, Prospect Park Alliance and Prospect Park Zoo.With circulation of 100,000, BKLYN’s readership was concentrated in Brooklyn’s most prosperous neighborhoods. In each issue, readers found entertaining features with distinctive voices and authoritative service pieces about their borough. Stories ranged from art and culture to real estate and politics, covering the ideas and forces that shaped the vibrant community that is Brooklyn. The magazine was successfully sold to a group of private investors.

Susan was responsible for large-scale brand strategy and design projects for Fortune 500 clients.

As Chief Operating Officer, Susan was responsible for the firm’s day-to-day operations while also directing many major projects, including the first American Girl Place in Chicago; the retail renovation of Citicorp Center in New York; the 3M Innovation Center in St. Paul; the traveling exhibition “Hollywood: Legend and Reality” for the Smithsonian Institution; and the public exhibition space for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Susan was responsible for the exhibition design of the Basketball Hall of Fame and a New York gallery for the Government of India.

Susan was responsible for project direction of Renault’s Paris headquarters and the design of the gallery interiors of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, among other projects.
