Project Management and Architecture DesignI am involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle from gathering the initial user requirements for a bug fix or enhancement to implementing the code changes to production. I have worked directly with the user community to gather information relating to what they are expecting from the system as well as the actual coding and then acceptance testing of the changes requested. In order to maintain version control over the code I implement a check out/check in process using Team Object Manager. I was responsible for the project management and well as coding of an entire policy/claims/billing system at a P&C Insurance company. As part of the project management lifecycle, I am also responsible for doing both user and technical documentation of all requirements. Once a solution is in place I also do the user and technical documentation for the end result. I also serve as a liaison between the user community and technical groups.TSQL/PLSQL Data RetrievalI am responsible for writing complex Transact SQL and PL/SQL queries against SQL Server and Oracle databases in order to retrieve and/or manipulate various data for clients. I have also used these methods to create files to load to data warehouses for archival purposes. I use SQL Plus, SQL Talk, SQL Navigator and/or ISQL to accomplish these queries.Code in depth issues using Gupta/Centura SQL Windows 1.5.I am responsible for fixing and customizing WPC - an insurance program that handles all aspects from policy and claims to billing. I have also done a lot of conversion and enhancement to the Policy system and the STAT system that feeds to ISO.

SQL Server Maintenance and Database Design/Implementation/Data WarehousingI was responsible for the maintenance and optimization of existing databases as well as the design and implementation of new databases as needed. I created and maintained DTS packages to import weekly and monthly feeds to SQL Server as well as custom stored procedures as needed. I have designed databases to serve as a data warehouse for multiple data sources and created Web and/or Access front-ends to display/report on the information. I also created and maintained several other Access front ends that tie to SQL Server back ends. I use Crystal Reports and Access to create custom reports as needed.

Administering approximately 50+ databases on SQL Server 7.0 and 10 databases on SQL Server 6.5. I was responsible for converting the SQL Server 7.0 databases off of SQL Server 6.5 from an Alpha platform to an Intel platform. I was also responsible for setting up new databases as they were needed and assisting other groups with writing stored procedures, creating relational database structures, etc. Assist in web-development using ColdFusion and JavaScript (Entry-level). I was responsible for taking on the smaller web-based projects for our group which consisted primarily of tools to assist our group in doing a better job. I have created inventory databases with web front-ends, tracking tools, informational databases, etc. I also administered users and groups in SilverStream as well as published and promoted applications from one environment to another.

Senior Programmer/AnalystCoded in depth issues using Gupta/Centura SQL Windows 1.0 and 1.1. I was responsible for the largest applications in our Insurance based system, NEON, which includes the Claims and Policy systems. I worked with another programmer to design a Submission system and Marketing system. I also alternated running the monthly batch processing and resolving any errors that may occur after the processing completed. Designed Access databases for various projects using VBA. I developed several applications to make the data in NEON available to the users. I have designed both fully Access based applications as well as Access front-ends using linked SQL Server 6.5 tables. I helped to design and enhance a program for our Positive Pay system with TCB. I also began converting a FoxPro program to Access for better functionality.Worked as backup DBA with SQL Server 6.5. I was secondary for all areas of database administration and implementation. I was involved in restoring databases when they became corrupt, setting up new databases, and maintaining our current databases. Developed programs using Visual Basic 6.0. I re-wrote several extracts from our NEON system in Visual Basic using ADO and the data environment. I have also written a batch program using a 3rd party ActiveX DLL using ADO and the data environment.
