I am a professional within the area of Higher Education Administration currently working at the University of North Florida as an Academic Advisor in the Coggin College of Business. I have previous experience in many aspects of higher education administration within Academic Affairs, Enrollment Services, Student Affairs and the Athletic Department. My path to higher education as a career began during my undergraduate coursework at the University of Nebraska when I began working as tutor for student-athletes. I began to see that the field of education could be much more than just teaching in a K-12 school environment. As I began to become more involved as an academic mentor and counselor, I realized that working with college students was something I wanted to continue to pursue as a career. I found assisting students navigate through college and educating them through teaching the skills needed to be successful in a college and beyond to be very rewarding. As a higher education professional I am able to not only impact the lives of the individual students that come into my office for guidance and planning but through outreach and retention efforts also make a difference in the overall goals of the university. My career goals are to continue to work in higher education.
