Researched for, collected and digitized archival records of Metis ancestors within the North Slave Region. Participated in MVEIRB Hearings regarding Giant Mine Remediation Project, NICO/Fortune Minerals, and DeBeers Gacho Kue Project to represent Metis interests. Organized and participated in Caribou Hunts. Participated in TK, Vegetation, Aquatic, Wildlife, Bison, Environmental Impact Report Workshops regarding the diamond mine impacts (Diavik Diamond Mine Inc., De Beers Canada Inc., Ekati (DDCORP). Wrote proposals for federal or territorial funding projects. Provided quarterly reports and managed annual budgets.

Managed the implementation of the Socio-Economic Monitoring Agreement with the Diavik Diamond Mines Inc., the Government of the NWT and nine impacted communities. Ensured existing short and long range workplans were followed and projects completed to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the socio-economic conditions and concerns of the Aboriginal parties.

Taught middle school students from Grades 7 - 9 incorporating an inclusive-schooling principle in the classroom that was relevant to the northern and aboriginal culture. Built in the division's new literacy and math initiatives into classroom planning and lessons. Provided in-house workshops for fellow teachers. Supported the on-the-land excursions, student council and sporting events as coach.

Developed communication strategies for various government departments to inform stakeholders in the public and private sector. Participated in government initiatives such as the Constitutional Working Group, the transfer of GNWT employees to the newly-created Nunavut Government, the Affirmative Action Committee. Designed and launched a department website. Wrote speeches for various Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and the Premier. Co-delivered workshops on the land claim and negotiations history for territorial government employees in regional centers.

Researched current political, social and economic issues facing Aboriginal peoples in Alberta. Built valuable contacts within business, industry and various political organizations. Became a regular consultant for national radio and TV shows.

Represented the political, economic and social interests and needs of the Dene, Metis, Inuit and Inuvialuit women across the western Northwest Territories. Lobbied for subsidization of milk and bread in small, isolated communities, rights of Aboriginal women in the Canadian Constitution of 1982, the need to stop spousal assault and child abuse. Managed education programs and staff in Yellowknife and Inuvik Offices. Introduced the first computer interactive adult learning program in the North, called AWARE that was sponsored by the federal government.

Researched northern issues, interviewed officials from the public and private sector. Created a forum of discussion to help answer questions about the socio economic impacts of life in the North. Developed relationships with elders and aboriginal people to understand their perspective as land claim and resource development projects began to define the political agenda.

Interviewed and researched issues that were impacting the Aboriginal communities in the NWT. Covered stories such as the Norman Wells Pipeline Project, Dene Nation negotiations of a comprehensive land claim to the collapse into regional claims, Metis Nation of the NWT, various waterboard hearings, and environmental impact assessment hearings.
