    I led a team developing policy and insights related to the circular economy and the path to net zero. I was responsible for guiding and coordinating policy work across the organisation, and implementing strategic programmes related to policy development, covering research projects and impact assessments. I ensured that high-quality, timely policy support was provided to the Scottish Government, proactively liaising with government stakeholders in Scotland and the rest of the UK to ensure efficient, joined-up policy development. Policy work included:- Restrictions on single-use plastic items (Scottish regulations)- Reforms to extended producer responsibility regulations for packaging (UK regulations)In order to translate our evidence base into positive policy impact, I represented Zero Waste Scotland on Scotland's Climate Emergency Research Group (CERG), as well as engaging with other groups and overseeing consultation responses. Policy engagement topics included heat in buildings, the National Planning Framework and building standards.
