I have over 30 years of experience in the State Vocational Rehabilitation system, having spent the first half of my career as a VR Counselor, providing guidance and counseling to individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence and inclusion in society, and the second half working in a talent development capacity to insure new VR Counselors, supervisors and managers across the disability services agencies have the training and experiences they need to succeed in their complex and important jobs. Following my retirement from state government, I had the opportunity to continue to have an impact on the development of VR professionals by transitioning into my current part-time L&D role where I serve as VP of the VR Development Group with responsibility for managing VRDG course library content, obtaining and maintaining CRC approvals for course offerings, co-facilitate Community of Practice with VR Professionals, and collaborate/support CEO with outreach and evaluation, as needed. VRDG and its sister organization, YesLMS, work to ensure the availability of quality and relevant continuing education for VR professionals on a national level. The YesLMS learning management platform is proud to be fully accessible and inclusive of a unique accessibility widget making the learning experience seamless for those with accommodation needs.
