My duties include calling on retail grocery stores in support of the store donation program, educating and training store personnel on their program’s donation guidelines, monitoring and reporting individual store donation progress as well as managing the donor recognition program. I also teach and re-enforce food safety compliance to our member agencies in preparation for handling food donations. In the past 12 months I was directly responsible for rescuing over 9 million pounds of usable food from the waste stream and distributing it back into our 23 parish area.
