Recruited as a full-time faculty member in the School of Health Sciences on a nine-month contract at a dynamic four-year liberal arts institution dedicated to excellence in higher education with an enrollment of 9.300+.• Develop curriculum, and deliver effective instruction to Health Sciences Majors in Exercise Testing, Foundations of Sport & Exercise Science, & Human Pathophysiology in conjunction with University policies and procedures.• Manage the learning environment by developing lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams; utilize online resources, both University and textbook for posting of coursework and assignments. • Encourage student engagement by creating a positive classroom atmosphere that stimulates active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.• Collaborate with Department Chairs and Directors to enhance the course material, lecture, and lab experience, and ensure continuous improvement of measurable learning outcomes enabling students to successfully apply knowledge in the field. • Support student learning by making them aware of appropriate University support services, guiding, counseling and assisting them on academic and career opportunities, and providing guidance for additional tutoring or learning.

Taught two sections of Anatomy & Physiology I & II, both lecture and lab to majors in Nursing and Allied Health programs at a public two-year college with transfer career degree programs, continuing education, business and industry training.• Utilized effective teaching strategies that met students’ diverse needs with a strong commitment to the mission and ideals of the college; taught a total of 125 students during each semester with average class size of 30.• Created an effective learning environment and designed course syllabi to meet learning outcomes for students pursuing Associates Degrees; developed lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams; conducted hands-on lab activities.• Collaborated with the Biology Department Chair and the School of Nursing Director to enhance the learning experience of the nursing majors to better prepare them for nursing school. • Assisted students in applying for medical school, nursing school, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and study abroad.

As part of a team for the Division of Research, assisted medical students, residents, and faculty members in developing research methodologies. Saint Louis University is a mission-driven private Catholic, Jesuit institution that fosters intellectual and character development for 13,500+ students.• Served as Project Coordinator for the HRSA Academic Administrative Units Grant; coordinated projects with the Primary Care Research Symposium, the Primary Care Student Interest Group, and Steering Committees created for this grant.• Assisted with curriculum tool design and dissemination of data collected for the HRSA Longitudinal Underserved Community Curriculum Grant; provided writing and editorial assistance in preparing grants and manuscripts.• Conducted extensive literature searches, utilizing computer-based health databases, to support validity of research studies.

Founded and managed all aspects of the company including business development, client treatment, and administration for a privately-owned neuro developmental firm that evaluated children with learning disabilities.• As a certified HANDLE® screener, worked with children from four to twelve-years-old to discover which sensory systems may be contributing to academic, work, and behavioral difficulties, or which may impede future learning.• Designed programs to treat a variety of neurodevelopmental conditions for children with mild learning and behavioral challenges, which led to improvements such as better attention and focus, increased ability to follow instructions, enhanced visual ability for tracking and for changing focus from near to far, strengthened impulse control, and better handwriting.• Taught parents how to implement therapy at home, based on their individual needs.

Taught Exercise Science classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels at a public university that provides a diverse student body of more than 14,000 with a high-quality, affordable education.• Developed lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams, and lab activities for coursework which included anatomy & physiology, advanced physiology, kinesiology, public health, and special populations to an average of 75 to 100 students per semester.• Employed instructional strategies that included lecture, discussion, case studies, and relevant research; applied active learning methods to class discussions and hands-on lab instruction with anatomy models, histology, and dissection.• Provided guidance to students on thesis, research, and methodologies for senior seminar and independent study projects.• Counseled students, and provided individual guidance on academic, career, tutoring, and additional learning opportunities.

Performed laboratory research in the Department of Experimental Psychology. • Conducted experiments using both radial arm water maze and learning environment habitats; evaluated effects of different rearing environments on learning and retention of a skill in young and aged rats. • Experiment design was to determine effects of exposure to drugs-of-abuse on liability for abusing other drugs.• Targeted regions of the brain were analyzed by senior researcher to determine potential changes in neural anatomy from alterations in rat’s learning environment.

Conducted comprehensive fitness testing and designed individualized fitness programs to improve client health and wellness at a firm which provides personal training in the areas of post-rehabilitation, performance improvement, functional fitness, and nutrition.• Developed fitness programs designed to improve functional strength and ability for clients recovering from total hip and knee replacements, arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgeries, back surgeries, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, and cancer.• Performed fitness testing that included muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, balance, core strength and nutrient intake.
