I think nursing is the best job in the world. A long time ago, when an acquaintance heard I had become a nurse, she declared, "that's so co-dependent." Clearly, she had no idea what nurses do. In 25 years as a registered nurse, I have taken care of newborns and centenarians, the extremely wealthy and those who don't know where they're going to sleep tonight. I've seen people at their worst and people at their very best. As I nurse, not only do I care for people but I advise, advocate, educate, empathize and guide them through the maze we call modern healthcare. Always challenging, never, boring, never co-dependent.
