Dr. Hudec earned an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from CUNY, a B.A. in English Literature and M.S.Ed. from Wagner College and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, Leadership and Technology from New York University. Prior to working at St. Joseph’s College, she was an Assistant Professor, Director of Non-traditional Career Students Office and Coordinator of Pre-Nursing Student Advisement at Kingsborough Community College. Dr. Hudec was also the Counseling Coordinator of the Freshman Year Experience at Kingsborough and was a member of the CUNY Writing Across the Curriculum Committee.Before working at Kingsborough, she was Director of Student Activities and the Wagner Union at Wagner College. Dr. Hudec was employed as a part-time faculty member in graduate programs at Wagner College and St. John’s University.Her dissertation, entitled “Inducing Voluntary Community Service in Undergraduates: The Relative Contributions of Prior Experience, Coursework, and the Disposition of Empathy and Moral Development,” (2002) earned notable mention in Recent Dissertations on Service-Learning and Service Learning Topics, Vol. III (2003).Dr. Hudec has been invited to be a member of five Middle States Evaluation Teams. In October of 2013, Dr. Hudec was awarded a College Coaching Certificate: Helping Students on the Autism Spectrum Transition to Post-Secondary Education from the Asperger Center for Education and Training. She has presented at numerous Student Affairs and Mental Health conferences.Dr. Hudec provided leadership for the following areas at St. Joseph's College, NY for ten years on both the Brooklyn and Long Island campuses: Athletics (DIII), Campus Ministry, Career Dev., Wellness & Health, Counseling, Accessibility Services, Student Activities, SGA, Res. Life, FYE, Student Judicial and Greek Life. Dr. Hudec is a NYS OASAS Master Credentialed CASAC and also lead instructor of ASAP NYS OASAS certified Certified Recovery Peer Advocate classes CRPA.
