Curriculum CoordinatorArgyll Centre Sep 2001 - Jun 2011I had a very unique opportunity at Argyll, allowing me to work with all four campuses, Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, to influence over 1500 learners. One of the main focuses of my leadership position as Curriculum Coordinator was to create experiential, hands-on programs for students in both science and math. My main focus was environmental education. My goal was to bring the students in for a day to whatever location (forest, zoo, river, mountain, etc) best suited the topic being studied. We would spend the day focused on hands-on experiential activities designed to create real life understandings of the curricular outcomes. From there, I created comprehensive take-home curriculum based activities to allow students to complete the remaining unit objectives. My programs were wildly successful and the students took almost as much enjoyment from thier learning as I did.
