With 20 years as a Learning Specialist, I bring depth of experience and passion to my work. The Lindmood-Bell Learning Processes is my foundation and I have many tricks in my tool bag, including the methods of Orton-Gilligham, Slingerland, and Making Math Real. I was mentored by an innovative art therapist and enjoy folding in multiple creative modalities, tailoring my approach to the unique needs of each student. The children remain my best teachers. I believe every child naturally loves to learn but sometimes a child’s innate exploration can dry up when they are having trouble learning in the same way and speed as other students. Their self-esteem can take a hit. I attune to each child, identifying their core strengths, needs, and learning style - drawing on innovative science-backed multi-sensory strategies to unlock their potential. By developing a dynamic teaching relationship and curating lesson plans, we can make learning fun again and build on successes in a way that helps each student progress individually and translate that progress back into the classroom.
