This position was directly responsible for all Elizabeth Fry's Housing First services implementation andsuccessful placement of over 200 chronic and episodic homeless individuals in New Westminster through"A Key of Her Own" and in Surrey through the "Surrey Housing First Collaborative".Successful management of, installation and implementation of HIFIS data collection, VulnerabilityScoring, Intensive Case Management, HPS rent subsidies and client supports. Facilitated and led 20 Housing First Case Managers to work collaboratively to broker supportsand ensure success for vulnerable homeless people Facilitated and led organizational changes at three levels; Executive Directors, Program Managersand Front Line Case Managers to implement Housing First Services under multiple HPS Federalcontracts Directly responsible for successful contract management and achieving all contracted outcomes,reporting and monthly billing Manager of New Westminster and Surrey Homeless Women's Drop In centers with over 60volunteers and one volunteer coordinator Managed Integrated Offenders Homeless Outreach Program (IOM/HOP), responsible to managecase managers who provided in-reach services for incarcerated women at ACCW and communitysupport work to reduce recidivism Participated in the senior management team responsible for the day to day operations whichincluded being on the rotation as 24 hour on-call Supervisor for all programs of EFry.

Susan has worked, lived and volunteered in the South Surrey - White Rock community for over 20 years. She was the founding member and Executive Director of the Newton Advocacy Group Society, creating empowerment and employment programs that have helped over 5,000 people. In 2008, Susan was named YWCA Woman of Distinction and she is a founding member and Board Director of Vibrant Surrey, a non-profit society aimed at reducing poverty.Facilitative leader in community collaborative projects: Project Comeback, Collaborative outreach in Surrey, Surrey Board of Trade’s Link Line and the Surrey Rent Bank. • Strong collaborative relationships with Surrey based community services, local business, all three levels of government and the Surrey Board of Trade. • 2010 Moving Towards Solutions Vibrant Surrey; Project Comeback Acknowledgment. • 2009 The Surrey Rent Bank, homelessness prevent project. This table has over 30 members who are local community service organizations. It also includes representatives from: City of Surrey, BC Housing, Fraser Health, Mental Health and Ministry for Social Development. It is connected to the South Surrey White Rock PH2H table and City of White Rock. 2) The Surrey Homeless Outreach Workers Network. Facilitating a monthly meeting to support front line workers to collaborate on client support, shared knowledge on resources and coordinate efforts to reduce homelessness.

Coordinator of the Surrey Homelessness and Housing Task Force, Working Together in Surrey to reduce and eradicate homelessness. I provided a model of collaboration, promoted public awareness and education, coordination of services for the forty plus members which include: Local community services organizations, Faith groups, volunteers, Surrey Board of Trade, Fraser Health Authority, BC Housing, BC Ministry of Social Development and City of Surrey representatives. Responsibilities include: Representing the Task Force at meetings such as the Surrey Poverty Reduction Coalition, Vibrant Surrey, Ministry of Social Development Homeless Integration Project, other homelessness and housing tables. Lead and support strategic actions, working with member committees to maximize participation, meet task force goals and capacity to collaborate. Coordination of monthly meetings, agendas and minutes. Identify areas of work, gaps, needs and collaborative opportunities. Draft, maintain, circulate all task force correspondence and information that support thetask force members through: email, web site, social media and meeting hand outs.Project Management Consultant - Surrey Employment Services Network.June 2011 to January 2013.This Network was created in October of 2010 in response the Ministry of Social Development business transformation of all contracted employment services in BC. As Project Manager I facilitated a process to transition network members from contracted services to performance based payments and from each organization holding its own contract to four lead organizations with subcontractors. Member organizations were: Options, Pacific Community Resources, Diversecity, Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society, Phoenix Society, Newton Advocacy Group Society, Newton Employment Centre and SOURCES.

Successfully managed 27 professional and 10 lay staff with over 60 volunteers providing a wide range of service programs for 5,000 individuals and families annually. I was responsible for all fundraising, proposal writing and contract negotiations. Growing this organization from no funding to a revenue of two million dollars. As Executive Director I was directly involved with the day to day operations and innovative service program delivery that provided the following services: advocacy, information, referrals, support and empowerment for people dealing with poverty, homelessness, disability and mental health issues, violence and/or unemployment. I created and followed the strategic action plan to merge NAGS with a larger nonprofit society in order to manage the anticipated loss of funding due to the Ministry of Social Development's Business Transformation process of all employment service contracts. I was then chosen by my fellow executive directors to project manage the Surrey Employment Services Network.Responsible for creation and management of organizational documents, policies, standards and procedures: Constitution, Bylaws, staff/volunteer and board policy manuals, financial policies/systems and procedures. Projected budgets, monthly financial reports to the board of directors. Set management standards, hiring and disciplinary process, compensation rates. Internal best practices and work ethics. Organizational charter and values statement. Annual strategic plan with timelines and targets.Managed successful staff teams that were supported to achieve organizational outcomes through inspired and innovative leadership.
