She was the founding member and Executive Director of the Newton Advocacy Group Society, creating empowerment and employment programs that have helped over 5,000 people. I was responsible for all fundraising, proposal writing and contract negotiations. Growing this organization from no funding to a revenue of two million dollars. As Executive Director I was directly involved with the day to day operations and innovative service program delivery that provided the following services: advocacy, information, referrals, support and empowerment for people dealing with poverty, homelessness, disability and mental health issues, violence and/or unemployment. I created and followed the strategic action plan to merge NAGS with a larger nonprofit society in order to manage the anticipated loss of funding due to the Ministry of Social Development's Business Transformation process of all employment service contracts. I was then chosen by my fellow executive directors to project manage the Surrey Employment Services Network.Responsible for creation and management of organizational documents, policies, standards and procedures: Constitution, Bylaws, staff/volunteer and board policy manuals, financial policies/systems and procedures. Projected budgets, monthly financial reports to the board of directors. Set management standards, hiring and disciplinary process, compensation rates. Internal best practices and work ethics. Organizational charter and values statement. Annual strategic plan with timelines and targets.Managed successful staff teams that were supported to achieve organizational outcomes through inspired and innovative leadership.
