I am currently a business and computer teacher for the Huron Public School District. I teach at Our Home. It is a psychiatric treatment facility for middle and high school boys. I instruct them in business classes including personal finance, introduction to business, economics, and computer applications.I was recently a Peer Coach in Worthington School District 518. The state of Minnesota mandates that school districts incorporate peer coaching. According to Minnesota’s Department of Education, the process must include having a trained observer serve as a peer coach. I was a part of District 518 Department of Teaching & Learning Peer Coaching Team. Our goal was to provide our tenured teachers a deeper insight into strengths and areas for development, to empower them to learn new skills and manifest their leadership skills.I had been a business & computer teacher at Mitchell High School for 13 years. One of the reasons I taught was that I love to learn! Throughout my years at MHS, I have taught Personal Finance, Business Computers, Computer Applications, Careers, and served on many committees and cabinets. I resigned my position at MHS to further my career goals.In August of 2017 I accepted a teaching and IT integrationist at the Butterfield-Odin School district in MN.As I stated, I love to learn and am goal oriented. Problem solving is something I enjoy doing. I work hard and still find a way to have fun. I like getting to know people and learning about them. Relationships are the key to a successful classrooms, businesses, and management. I believe I was a successful teacher as I get to know my students and their story. Meeting one where he/she is at in life is key. Everyone has his/her own story and is simply trying to find their way in life.I enjoy working on my own as well as on a team. I enjoy working with others to find solutions and create possibilities. I enjoy working on the computer designing websites, using photoshop, and using about any computer application. Like I said, I love learning, and technology is intriguing! Family and friends are very important to me. I have two children. My son is a junior in college and my daughter in a junior in high school. Being the best possible mom and employee that I can be make me feel successful.
