Voices for Children (VFC) is a private, nonprofit volunteer agency in San Diego County devoted to helping abused, neglected and abandoned children who have been removed from their homes and placed under the protection of the Juvenile Court. VFC recruits, trains and supervises Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA's) who advocate in court in the best interest of their foster children as they are given complete access to medical, school and court files. CASA's guide their case children through the complex and confusing foster care system, striving for resolution in a way that best serves each child.

La Jolla Community Foundation's mission is to encourage civic engagement and pride through local philanthropy by encouraging the creation of special project funds that will benefit La Jolla for generations to come. One of the facets of the La Jolla Community Foundation is the mural project which consists of murals created by internationally reknowned artists including Kim MacConnel, Roy McMakin, Ann Hamilton, Ryan McGinness and John Baldessari.

The Foundation Board supports the mission of San Diego Zoo Global as a conservation, education and recreation organization dedicated to the reproduction, protection, and exhibition of animals, plants, and their habitats. Conservation efforts are global in scope.

The San Diego Women's Foundation educates and inspires women to engage in significant and sustainable philanthropy to strengthen the San Diego region by providing financial support to community organizations through a well-researched granting process.During the first six year granting cycle of 33 grants and over one million dollars, the following communities were served: low-income, children and youth, Hispanic/Latino, women/family-focused, African-American, refugees.

The Burn Institute is dedicated to reducing the number of burn injuries and deaths in San Diego and Imperial counties. Founded in 1972, one of the Institute's first accomplishments was to help establish the area's first and only regional burn center. Today, the Burn Institute continues to reach thousands of children and adults each year with lifesaving fire and bur prevention education; fund vital burn research and treatment; and conduct burn survivor support programs that help children and adults cope with the devastating psychological and physical effects of their injuries.

ARCS is a nonprofit foundation that is run exclusively by volunteers and selects promising scientists as their scholarship recipients from local universities.
