My business is called Music Connect and I work as a promoter and booking agent in the music industry. Our aim at Music Connect is to do just that, to link the artist to the right venue and to promote new up and coming singer songwriters as well as established artists. We specialise in original artists and bands.This is a field I have always had an interest in and have always had a deep love for all genres of music and the music industry. I have been helped by my son Ronan who is member of Alt Rock Band The Empire Lights and is also band manager, I do promotional work for Classical Guitarist and Composer Pat Coldrick, Rock Band Pearse Halpin Band, Terry Flood Band and a number of other Rock Bands and solo artists. I have experience in launching, promoting and hosting events. I hosted The Acoustic Fusion event in Cork last year, involving all aspects of the event, including PA, Lighting, Booking Artists, Venue Management, Event Promotion and Ticket Sales, Media Coverage and Health and Safety. I have a Diploma in Event Management. I also write for the music industry in the form of gig reviews and band/artist interviews for the online site Festival and Gig Guide.I act as Manager on Duty at Milano Restaurant in Cork. This is a very busy fast paced 200 seater restaurant. As well as day to day managing of the restaurant I handle corporate and occasion bookings, liaising with customers, chefs and floor staff assuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience for our clients. My previous career history was in the financial sector with Bank of Ireland and Permanentsb. I worked mainly in administration and lending where I gained huge knowledge in Customer Services, Public Relations, IT, Financial Advisor, Marketing, Insurance and Legal. I completed many Bank Exams in these departments. I progressed to Branch Assistant Manager, where I was involved in Lending, Customer Relations, HR and Branch Administration.
