• Lead USU’ Department of Psychiatry’s $65M research portfolio, working with multiple principal investigators, project coordinators, funding agencies, and HJF headquarter departments, ensuring smooth and accurate award management. • Created CSTS’s financial management department to ensure effective and efficient use of resources for multi-million dollar programs, including over 15 grants and cooperative agreements (DoD, NIH, VA, private foundations), led by six principal investigators.• Perform range of accounting and pre and post-award activities, including financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, subaward and other expense monitoring, personnel time reporting, and award close out. • Manage two administrators and three project coordinators, improving processes for increased efficiency, leading to continued leadership satisfaction.• Established CSTS’ standard operating procedures on purchasing, domestic and federal employee travel, and timesheet reporting. • Continually enhance financial and administrative processes by creating focused reporting for senior leadership and auditing internal controls, both leading to ease of achieving mission accomplishments.• Advise senior leaders on programmatic decision-making, ensuring resources are available and properly used for the full spectrum of research and education activities.• Lead meetings and coordinate activities with HJF’s headquarter departments, including Office of Sponsored Programs, Strategic Initiatives Office, Contracting, Regulatory, Human Resources, and Procurement, leading to clear information flow and good relations. • Facilitate information flow with USU’s Finance and Research Administration offices.

• Reviewed Foundation’s internal financial reports to identify errors and omissions, as well as opportunities for improved disclosures.• Managed the Capital Assets group to improve inventory compliance and write company regulations regarding equipment purchases, disposals, transfers, retirements, and annual inventories.• Worked with the IT department to formulate user friendly and meaningful online customer financial reports.• Educated IT department for a greater understanding of the customers’ financial needs, as well as increased the customers’ ability to rely on the accuracy and integrity of the reports. • Developed program management trainings to improve the utilization of the online financial reporting tools, resulting in increased managers’ abilities to assist department Directors with their financial needs.
