About Susan Onyango, Phd.

With vast experience in nutrition and public health programming, I am a passionate and visionary leader who strives to improve the health and well-being of communities through innovative and evidence-based programmes. As the Director/ CEO of The Healthy Woman, an initiative that provides integrated NCD preventive and management services to women and girls, I oversee the strategic direction, operations, partnerships, and advocacy of the organisation.I have a strong track record of managing and coordinating multi-donor and multi-sectoral projects in various settings, including humanitarian and development contexts. I have also been recognised for my contributions to the NCDs field, winning the WHO NCD Innovation Lab 3rd cycle, the Quality Healthcare Kenyan Award for Health Professional Achiever of the year, the Africa Sustainability Awards for the Community Sustainability initiative of the year, and the Homa Bay County quality improvement best practice awardI have a PhD in International Public Health from Pôle Universitaire Euclide, an MPH from the University of Nottingham, UK, and several professional certifications in nutrition, leadership, and monitoring and evaluation. I envision a strengthened health system with equitable access to quality healthcare for improved health outcomes. My mission is to empower women and girls to take charge of their health and live fulfilling lives.
