Coordinate activities of the Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force - a team of federal and non-federal organizations that take action to protect the waters of the United States from the threat of aquatic invasive species. Examples of duties include:Develop and implement work plans to advance the long- and short-range strategic objectives of the aquatic invasive species program developed under the Nonindigenous Aquatic Nuisance Prevention and Control Act;Plan and facilitate semiannual meetings of the Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force that bring together Federal, State, tribes, and local agencies, the private sector, and other North American interests;Lead issue-specific committees to enhance management of invasive species, products include species management plans, guidance documents, interagency agreements, databases and clearinghouses, outreach materials;Prepare reports for Congress and senior level management that reflect activities from multiple agencies and groups;Review and interpret laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to aquatic environments;Serve as a grant program officer to process and monitor financial award

Provide technical and staff support to the senior policy liaison to the National Invasive Species Council and the Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force;Coordinate NOAA's Healthy Oceans Programs to carry out requirements in the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation process;Lead or assist with development of evaluation strategies, writing funding proposals, and budget and program analysis for current and anticipated resource needs;Coordinate communication efforts regarding aquatic invasive species activities between NOAA Line Offices, other Federal and State agencies, and regional representatives. Lead the development of white papers and action plans for various subjects related to invasive species management and legislation.

Coordinated NOAA's invasive species program and task teams with a focus on planning, performance measures, and internal communications;Tracked legislation regarding aquatic nuisance species and provide reports;Monitored NOAA's progress in the context of the interagency invasive species management and strategic plans;Tracked NOAA's cross-line aquatic invasive species budget and Annual Operating Plans;Develop recommendations and provide technical assistance to NOAA programs and grant recipients in response to invasive species concerns.
