Her work on Capitol Hill has and Chief of Staff to Democratic Senators and Congressman, has given her invaluable knowledge and insight into the inner workings of both the House and Senate. The last position held of Capitol Hill was that as Chief of Staff for Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s Senate office thru the 1996 election cycle.Her experience also includes successful mobilization of national grassroots and grasstops campaigns.

In the political campaign world, Ms. Platt is well-known for her successes on election night, at the federal and state gubernatorial levels. Ms. Platt served as Sen. Charles S. Robb’s (D-VA) Campaign Manager during his 1994 bid for reelection against Lt. Colonel Oliver North. Considered by many as the most watched Senate race of the 1994 cycle, Robb was able to win reelection despite being outspent 4 to 1 and facing a candidate with nationwide name recognition, and in the face of a nationwide trend for Republican candidates. For her work on this campaign, Ms. Platt was recognized by the American Association of Political Consultants with a Pollie Award for Campaign Manager of the Year for the 1994 election cycle.

She has also been directly responsible for the planning and organization of multi-million dollar fundraising events and political campaign work for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). Additionally, she worked with the DSCC and the Democratic National Committee on GOTV programs for Western Pennsylvania in Senate elections for 3 election cycles, in South Carolina in 2 elections cycles, and in various other states for “drop-in” assistance when requested. Additionally, she served as New Hampshire Seacoast Director for “Gore for President” in the Presidential Primary in 2000.
