As Communications Director at Iowa PBS, I oversee internal and external communications of this multi-channel, statewide network as well as support its government relations work. I lead a team of seriously passionate, talented and inspired individuals who teach me something new every day. I've made it my daily mission to help each of them do what they do best: document Iowa's history, tell amazing stories, bring the arts into every life, and teach the love of learning. Together we work to educate, inform, enrich, and inspire Iowans. As Senior VP of Communications & Marketing for the Greater Des Moines Partnership, I managed internal and external communications, public and media relations, regional marketing of Central Iowa for business and workforce attraction and expansion, and organizational branding. I also served the original Capital Crossroads Vision Plan and its implementation. Born in Bettendorf, Iowa, I graduated from Iowa State University. I spent 15 years in broadcast news in the Mid - and Southwest where I worked my way from cub general assignment reporter to investigative producer to assistant news director. Outside of my professional obligations, I am a member of Earlham Chicks With Checks and in the Leadership Circles for Friends of Iowa PBS and Friends of Iowa Public Radio.
