I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and attended college at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. After marrying my high school sweetheart, we moved to eight states between 1987 and 1997. During this time, I worked at a variety of banks. Once we moved to Raleigh, we knew North Carolina was the place to put down roots and raise our family. After working in the mortgage business for eight years, in 2006 I began my career in Economic Development with the State of North Carolina. I enjoyed working at the Department of Commerce, helping to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for all North Carolinians. Prior to retirment, I was responsible for managing three of the State's discretionary incentives programs: the Job Development Grant Program (JDIG), the Job Maintenance & Capital Development Fund (JMAC), and the Site Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF). I worked with company representatives, their consultants and their attorneys in the application process and with their Grantee Annual Report (GAR) filings.Now that I am retired, I plan to use my experience with the State’s incentives programs to assist grantees with their annual compliance filings.
