Under Susan, Silver Properties was the first office IN THE COUNTRY to put computers on everyone’s desks, she decided to make that investment after listening to a speech Steve Jobs made about putting a computer in every home. It put precious time back into each agent’s day and made a difference because, “according to a Business Journal survey, Silver Properties was the ninth largest residential real estate firm in the country” back in 1987. She’s also been featured in the San Jose Business Journal, Newsweek magazine and has earned countless awards and accolades for her industry performance over the years. Susan has always made time for continuing education in real estate and in relationship-building, she has been able to watch the industry change over time and helped thousands of people buy and sell homes. She is not only well-versed in buying and selling real estate but also in 1031 exchanges, distressed properties, short sales, court expert witness, commercial real estate, property management, probate and estate sales and more! It was called Contempo.Realty.Went on in 1982 to form Silver Properties.At the helm I was able to grow the company from two people to five offices in the Bay Area , overseeing a multimillion dollar company employing over 500 agents. Following this I enjoyed Public Speaking,and also was featured in Newsweek Magazine in an article about stress.I was profiled in the San Jose Business Journal. I then left the business in 1997 to care for family. Upon returning in 1999,I co-founded the Silver/Byron Group. This became an Independent agency once again,and I continued to update myself in the newest technology to provide superior service for our clientele.In 2006 my intuition felt a change coming in the years ahead. I have seen three rather large downturns in the market. The first in late 79,to Oct 82.The second,from late 1998 to early 2004. and then as I had predicted, the perfect storm coming in Late 2007. We all know the rest so far! I believe it is a very exciting time for us. We can not for see the future,but we can be at the forefront of creating it.Friends,Family,we are all struggling. But we will come back,bigger,stronger and better than before. This means I believe we need to embrace ,our diversities,and commonalities to fix what has been broken,and learn once again,that Real Estate is local,and people still get married and divorced and change jobs,and have families..Speaking of families,I have two beautiful grandchildren and a grandson. I want to build a better as well as diverse housing market for them. Different community ideas ,Change being our only constant,lets continue to reinvent our selfs and industries, Sounds to difficult.I have alway's said that can't hasn't tried.
