Sue is a passionate outcomes researcher and leader, with 25+ years experience in a wide range of therapeutic areas (Oncology, Rare, Renal, Neuroscience, Analgesia, Psychiatry, Immunology, Respiratory, GI etc) in both US-focused and Global roles. Sue has successfully formed and led teams from patient-reported outcome (PRO) strategy development for a drug development program to label claims of clinical treatment benefits to enable patient access to new drugs. Sue has established herself as an opinion leader/ subject matter expert in the PRO and electronic clinical outcomes assessment (eCOA) areas, in addition to having business acumen, regulatory affairs experience and FDA exposure. Additionally, she has successfully built the capabilities for such teams in PRO and eCOA at multiple companies.Previously, Sue was VP, Patient-Centered Outcomes Strategy at MedAvante-ProPhase, where she was the PRO science head and led the design of patient-facing technologies for clinical trials.  While at GSK, she was Senior Director & Head of Patient Focused Outcomes, where she built and led the team responsible for PRO strategies as well as eCOA implementation. At Johnson & Johnson, she was responsible for developing and leading Neurology and Analgesia PRO strategies and led the eCOA initiative to enable electronic collection of PRO data in JNJ clinical trials.Sue is active in industry-wide patient-focused initiatives, to help shape the environment and also bring innovation and the latest thinking into Novartis. She is currently Co-Lead of the SCLC Working Group of the Critical-Path (C-Path) Institute’s Patient Reported Outcomes Consortium, and the Novartis Representative on the IMI H2O consortium and National Health Council’s Advisory Committee for the Patient-Centered Core Impact Set Initiative. She served as co-chair of C-Path’s ePRO subcommittee (2013-2016) and Research Committee Co-Lead (2017-2018). She previously was a member of PhRMA’s PRO working group. Sue has been a leader in the TransCelerate Patient Experience & Technology initiative. She has presented at many patient-centered conferences and is a co-author of over 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 74 research posters on PROs/outcomes research and eCOA.
