Deaf Interpreter Tour Guide providing Irish Sign Language Tours for the fixed collections and exhibitions

Supervisor with the Deaf Adult Literacy ServicesI supervise between 20-30 tutors (figure range varies depending on term) who teach a number of subjects such as English, English for Non-Nationals, Computers, Driving Theory Test, Art, Personal Development, Mathematics, Social Media, Web Design, etc. The Irish Deaf Society is licenced to provide FETAC accredited courses.To date, under 500 Deaf people have attended classes the past 9 years (as of Dec 2014). Each class runs for 2 hours per week for 27 weeks of the year (within three separate terms of 9 weeks). The classes are run nationwide with the majority of courses held in Dublin. Once a year i compile an evaluation report on the majority of courses to ensure a high standard of training and education.As part of my Social Media Duties, I supervise all social media activity such as Google+, Linkedin, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I also work with the web manager ensuring that content is loaded onto our website www.deaf.ie on a regular basis.

I was seconded from my position at the Irish Deaf Society to work on a Broadcasting Authority of Ireland funded programme: "Sign Up" which was a literacy based programme aired on UPC for the Deaf community in Ireland. Mind The Gap Films produced the 8 part series which aired in 2008-2009. With my prior experience working in television and with the Deaf Adult Literacy Services, I was advised by the CEO of the IDS at this time to work on this programme especially with my previous TV research and Deaf literacy knowledge.

I was seconded from within the Irish Deaf Society to take over the running of the Irish Sign Language Academy in 2008 whilst new staff were sourced.During my time, I took advantage of my experience with preparing strategy plans to compile a working operation plan for the ISLA.I also devised a new payment system and set up ISL classes.

Researcher on three series of HANDS ON

• Worked with the Marketing unit of the PAS on: “Candidates source of information”. As a recruitment agency, I was asked to find where candidates found out about jobs advertised. • Presented my findings and recommendations to the directors of the PAS• Worked pre-production on a corporate DVD• Designed exam covers for the annual Clerical and Executive Officers exams

• Qualitative and Quantitative research• Compiled data onto a SIMSAT file• Prepared background research material which was used later for publication for "signing in and signing out" (2005) researching the inequalities of Deaf people for Employment and Education
