I built an 18-year career in higher education. As an Assistant Professor of English, I taught classes from developmental and technical writing through senior-level lit classes. As an advising coordinator, I oversaw advising for 900 students in eleven different programs. I have advised, tutored, and mentored students from developmental to medical school.In 2018, I left higher ed to care for my ailing mother. At the same time, my partner and I began our own business -- Welcome Om New Age-- which she largely manages now, leaving me free to resume my career.I am highly organized, self-directed, and accustomed to training and overseeing the work of others. I am an outstanding writer and editor and a capable public speaker, comfortable with both small and large groups. While my background and skills lend themselves to higher education, I am open to considering other directions as well.
