As a seasoned communications strategist and writer, Susan has frequently been associated with game-changing, national initiatives focused on Canada’s social and civic development, and health system reforms. Key clients have been the Romanow Commission, the Library of Parliament, the Canadian Medical Association and the Canadian Nurses Association. Susan also led significant change communications and employee transition programs for the fledgling Canadian Blood Services agency, NAV CANADA, the City of Ottawa, the Department of National Defence, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. For seven years, Susan was the Director of Public Information for the House of Commons, a service that encouraged greater public access to information about the Canadian Parliament. Previously, she worked as an assistant to various Members of Parliament and cabinet ministers, including the federal Minister of Health. She also served as the Director of the national Speakers Bureau for the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada.Early in her career, Susan worked with Public Affairs International (PAI) as their social policy consultant. She holds a journalism degree from Carleton University and is a certified sommelier.
