In 2016, Susan & Stephen Rose founded Science of Shopping...fusing customer centric know-how with software innovation to deliver accessible customer-centric solutions that drive and support the decision making processes to enable change.Susan is an expert in customer centric retail strategy and in customer behavioural segmentation. She has worked in this field since joining dunnhumby in 1991, where she was part of the team that developed and launched the highly acclaimed Tesco Clubcard loyalty programme. Susan founded dunnhumby’s insight department and developed world-renowned retail analytics solutions during the 1990s.In 2002 Susan founded retail analytics specialist 5one where she took the role of customer strategy director and developed retail strategies for clients such as BP Retail, Pick n’ Pay, The Co-operative, Boots, Woolworths (SA) and Galeries Lafayette. In 2007, Susan and her partners sold 5one to the French marketing and financial group LaSer and continued to develop the business for a further 3 years, 5one now has offices in London, the USA and South AfricaIn 2010, Susan and her partners founded Zinc and have successfully encapsulated customer centric retail methods into accessible and user friendly software applications that are being used by retailers in the UK and Europe. In 2014 Zinc and its Tripps behavioural analytics software was acquired by Aimia Inc. Tripps is now used by many large retailers internationally including grocery, drug, department stores and fashion retailers.In 2011, Susan was co-founder of Keystone Consulting in South Africa, working with Woolworths SA, David Jones and Country Road Group in Australia and Showmax Africa.
