Writing is my passion, with the purpose of serving a higher good. I compose articles and author books to inform, encourage and help others. I love using my writing to generate conversation, connecting people with other people, and people with great ideas so as to create something new and dynamic. I am well known for my generosity in sharing information and my time with others to help out however I can.One of my specialties is literary/historical writing, specifically Louisa May Alcott and her family and other 19th century transcendentalists. I have contributed an essay to a compilation titled “Alcott’s Imaginary Heroes: The Legacy of Little Women” (Pink Umbrella Publishing, 2018) articles for magazines and online publications as well as built a significant platform through my blog of 10 years, “Louisa May Alcott is My Passion” (https://louisamayalcottismypassion.com). As of July of 2020, the blog has had 611,000 views with 313,000 visitors. In all that I do as a literary and historical writer, I am committed to thorough research, presenting the facts and offering new insights.I am acknowledged by the Alcott scholar community as an expert, having been cited in books authored and/or edited by Pulitzer Prize winner John Matteson, Anne Boyd Rioux, PhD, Carmen Maria Machado, and Andrew Gulli, managing editor of “The Strand” magazine. Because of my reputation and service to the community, I was appointed the administrator of the official Louisa May Alcott Facebook group sponsored by The Louisa May Alcott Society and Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House. I am currently working on an essay for a compilation to be published by Routledge Press’ Nineteenth-Century series titled “May Alcott Nieriker, the Genius behind Amy March.”My other specialty is Catholic spirituality. I am the author of “River of Grace: Creative Passages through Difficult Times” (Ave Maria Press, 2015) and “Louisa May Alcott: Illuminated by The Message” (ACTA Publications, 2015). I am also a contributor to two best-selling and award-winning books by Ave Maria Press: “The Catholic Mom's Prayer Companion” (2016), edited by Lisa Hendey and Sarah Reinhard, and “The Handbook for Catholic Moms” (2010, revised 2019) by Lisa Hendey. I write monthly columns for the award-winning catholicmom.com website and have been a correspondent for the last 7 years for “The Catholic Free Press” in Worcester, Massachusetts.
