Responsible for the management of an innovative investment programme to procure projects which improved access to skills and enterprise in the most disadvantaged communities in Lincolnshire, and achieve the target number of outputs. The role included: supporting voluntary sector applicants to ensure that the projects improved the economy of their local.

Responsible for promoting, developing and managing the Vital Villages grant programme across the East Midlands; as well as working on national programmes e.g. Pro Help; and managing the contracts with three of the Rural Community Councils.

Working directly with rural communities I was responsible for supporting funding applications; promoting the work of the RCC; developing and delivering training programmes and designing self help tools; writing successful funding applications to deliver improvements to rural villages e.g. Newstead Healthy Living Centre.I set up a new charity NAVACH.

I managed a small team that provided information on the range of services provided by Social Services, in different formats and languages, as well as producing publicity material for the Department. I set up the first telephone information service for Social Services linked to an existing health information service
