Susan continued the upgrade work of Forest and Trees to Business Objects and Oracle database 7.1.3 to 8. From this, Susan enhanced the Business Objects configuration to provide connectivity to the Oracle Express Data Factory and the relevant user training was provided.Due to the new Electricity Trading Arrangements brought on by the government, new systems were needed to cope with the Business change. Susan was assigned to the MIS/Data Warehouse team and was tasked to complete and manage the Requirement Definition phase of the project. During this phase, extensive user contact and analytical skills were required. From this Susan produced the business objects reporting mechanism to the new database including universe and standard report development.

Graduate Analyst ProgrammerKeane Limited Aug 1997 - Sep 1999Role – Solutions DeveloperAfter graduating, Susan joined Keane Ltd as a graduate trainee who assigned her to National Power (NP) as part of their graduate development programme for two years. On arrival to National Power, Susan joined the Data Warehouse support and development team. Susan’s initial duties included the support and development of the data warehouse database, the support and maintenance of the front end application written in Forest and Trees and maintenance of the data warehouse data quality scripts and data load routines written in PLSQL. Due to millennium compliance, Susan became involved in converting the Forest and Trees application into Business Objects reports and scripts, development of several Business Object universes and the upgrade of the Oracle database from 7.1.3 to 8. Business Objects became the reporting tool after an extensive selection process was undertaken, which involved investigating six separate OLAP tools. -
