My approach is compassionate, faith-inspiring, and directive. I combine cognitive behavioral therapy and strength-focused therapy with spiritual disciplines to help individuals manage life and relationships, overcome fears, and lift their spirits. Together, we explore ways to reset one's life course, restore one's energy, and renew one's hope in order to live their best life forward.

I loved my position in higher education, working with students in the SU Hospitality Management program. I oversaw the HIWE (internship) program, provided academic and career advising, and enjoyed teaching courses and instructing/assisting labs. I also chaired the SU Career Services Network, a professional development network of 100+ career practitioners. While the SU Hospitality Management Program closed in June 2014 our LinkedIn Group remains strong and open to all SU alumni actively involved in the Hospitality Industry. Opening Wee Care Pediatrics allowed me to apply the skills I learned in business to a medical setting. Location! Location! Location!; The customer, I mean patient, is always right; Debits must equal Credits; Cash flow matters; and collecting A/R from insurance companies can be tricky!

Embracing a strengths-focused, narrative, eclectic model I enjoyed working with couples, families and individuals as a systems therapist. My settings included a health maintenance organization, human sexuality clinic, and private practice in partnership with a local, non-denominational church. Issues ranged the gambit from eating disorders, to domestic violence, school phobia, and marital issues. My infant daughter’s refusal to be fed from a bottle lead me to relinquish my practice – at least in a formal setting.

SMC is a not-for-profit purchasing cooperative owned and governed by the fraternities, sororities, small living units, and concessions at Cornell University. Purchasing over $3,000,000/year it is one of the largest college cooperatives in the nation. I worked with a great staff. My chief contributions were to select the purchasing prime vendor, foster board membership and participation, and oversee human resources, finances, and technology.

Before event planning was an everyday function, I filled a market niche by assisting organizations and individuals in planning and executing events. My primary accounts were Cornell University departments, such as the Entrepreneur of the Year Program, Alumni Affairs (Homecoming and Reunions), School of Hotel Administration, and Johnson Business School, as well as private events, such as weddings and receptions. Groups ranged in size from 6pp to 1000pp.

As Director of Staff and Fiscal Resources I oversaw the financial affairs of the Statler Inn, Faculty Club, and Auditorium and learned how enterprise systems worked within a fund-accounting system in higher education. I enjoyed operations, especially from my perspective of finances and human relations. Responsiblities included overseeing the student internship program. I successfully created a weekend operations program that allowed students to pitch business plans and run a dining outlet meal period for the semester. The inn was closed in 1988 and demolished in order to build the new, state of the art, Statler Hotel.

What a fabulous position to hold directly out of college! I toured the greater part of the United States completing market analysis to support building new hotels, renewing franchise licenses, and mapping the corporate development plan. My macro-economic perspective of the industry exposed me to a diversity of markets, unique demand generators, and the ever evolving hospitality industry, needless to say corporate America in the 80’s. I loved my years in Memphis and the comforts of Southerin’ living, if not the distance from my native NY and farm family.
