Giant Steps facilitates conversations to advance artists and entrepreneurs who are driven by their values and their belief in community. Our key event is the annual Giant Steps conference. In addition, we host intermittent events throughout the year and Giant Steps Radio (2017-2020), a weekly radio show about creative entrepreneurs in our community. Giant Steps Radio was a part of the launch and inaugural line-up on KRSM 98.9 community radio in Minneapolis.Giant Steps events are places to advance your thinking and enhance your skills. I've designed and taught courses in the Opus College of Business (5 years in the MBA program + 1 year in the undergraduate program), as well as teaching multiple Executive Education courses and custom-training programs in the Center for Business Excellence each year since 2005.

I co-taught "Creative Entrepreneurship and Resource Development" in the Arts and Cultural Leadership graduate program at the University.

I created and led the Council for Project Management at The Conference Board. The Council is made up of executives from Fortune 200 companies. As Program Director, I facilitated the start-up of this Council; lead the design of the quarterly meetings; facilitated information exchange between members; ensured alignment with the Conference Board's brand, processes, and client experiences, and assisted in the recruiting activities for new members for the Council.

Worked simultaneously with three boutique consulting firms (based in Seattle, Hamburg, and Houston) to lead projects + deliver training in Healthcare and with multi-nationals in Pharma, Professional Services, and Oil and Gas. Projects were based in Houston, New York, Seattle, Munich, Chicago, New Jersey, Oklahoma City, Basel, and Minneapolis. Projects were rooted in innovation, strategy and operations management, and Lean transformations.

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

Responsible for RFID product marketing, including understanding customer and market needs, forecasting sales of a dynamic project, and collaborating with the laboratory and product development engineers on the evolution of the RFID products. Also managed sales channels via distribution partners and relationships with software partners for 3M's total Library Systems business.

Paris Area, France

Helped create and manage 6Sigma deployment across Europe under aggressive financial targets and accelerated timelines. Member of the Six Sigma Leadership Team. Managed a pan-European team team of 7 coaches. Ensured the training of 2000+ green belts across 23 countries in the first two years. Provided one-on-one project coaching to 180 Black Belts. Co-created and managed the European PMO and project tracking, gate reviews, and certification criteria for Black Belts and Green Belts.

Milan, Italy

Started and led the first eBusiness team in 3M Italy. Worked with all 3M Italy businesses and staff groups, plus European and Global counterparts, to establish the initial, country-appropriate web presence for 3M in Italy and in Italian, while maintaining consistency and brand with 3M's global web presence. Selected and managed the digital agency for Southern Europe region.

Milan, Italy

Created and led an internal continuous improvement consulting group which delivered high impact projects for 3M factories and distribution centers in Italy. Also designed an annual, 4-week, immersive training program in process improvement, project management, and team skills. The strategic goal of the program was to create an accelerated development program for well-rounded and well-equipped new graduate engineers in the context of an internal consulting group which would develop highly-trained engineers for future leadership roles.
