Human Resources Manager
Managed the HR function for 3 locations. Handled employee relations, health and safety, labor relations, coaching, policies, handbooks, training, Worker’s Compensation, benefits administration, recruitment, and recordkeeping. ♦Initiated and created, in partnership with VP of HR, a “Management Indoctrination Program” to bring mgrs into compliance with policies/procedures. Resulted in standard procedures for interviewing and discipline and encouraged effective relationships between HR and mgrs.♦Improved communications between mgmt and non-English speaking workforce. Established relationship with community college and utilized a grant to enable staff to participate in English as a 2nd Language class, and a group of mgrs participated in a Workplace Spanish class. ♦Decreased accidents/unsafe situations with an innovative safety program. Started a monthly steering committee of mgrs. Formed an employee safety committee with monthly safety topics, videos, safety posters, and more.
