I was promoted to lead instructor where I was given more administrative tasks. Along with other lead instructors, I was responsible for scheduling, keeping the students' material up to date, administering assessments, communicating students' performance with their parents, training new instructors, mentoring and monitoring instructors, and additional miscellaneous tasks.

Mathnasium is a group tutoring environment for students from elementary to high school (sometimes, but rarely, college students). One instructor rotated to teaching 3-4 students at a time, most likely in different topics. The focus was teaching the Mathnasium methods which taught number sense. We wanted to build their foundational skills in order to be ready for higher math or catch up to the math they were currently trying to learn in school. This position required efficient multi-tasking as we had to keep their material in order and switch between several topics of mathematics quickly while teaching the methods properly.

I was promoted to head TA where I had additional tasks including creating and editing worksheets, printing and distributing worksheets, and mentoring other TAs that were teaching the Calculus II discussion sections.

Taught a discussion class that supplemented a Calculus II lecture. Also responsible helping students work through challenging worksheets. The focus of these classes was active learning and helping students discover solutions on their own by applying the concepts they learned in lecture.

I was promoted to Senior SI leader and was given additional tasks. The tasks included meeting with the SI coordinator and other Senior SI leaders (there was a Senior SI leader for each major) as well as mentoring and monitoring the math SI leaders. We also made an effort to bring together SI leaders from all majors by planning events.

As an SI leader, we held classes supplemental to lecture in which students could ask for help. We also created and provided worksheets to help and also challenge students in those topics of mathematics. There was an emphasis on active learning and we tried to create games and activities for the class that would help enforce the topics they learned in lecture.
