Her strategic counsel and robust portfolio of land use experience draw upon her educational and professional background as an architect and urban planner. Susan’s well-earned reputation as a sought-after land use attorney is complemented by the key relationships she has developed over the years with developers, consultants, government officials and stakeholders, by way of her extensive involvement in projects throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, including extensive work with the Arizona State Land Department. She prides herself on her ability to uncover creative, timely, business-minded solutions for any number of legal issues that may arise throughout the life cycle of each development project. Susan's practice includes navigating the entitlement process for development projects of all sizes, with an emphasis on creating the regulatory structure for master planned communities. Her practice extends to negotiating development agreements and infrastructure reimbursement agreements, creation of special taxing districts, transactional counseling, development permitting, administrative proceedings and strategic oversight of public outreach campaigns involving collaboration with neighborhood organizations, political action groups and local media.Susan is an active member of Arizona’s legal community, serving as a member of Ladder Down and regularly speaking at industry events. Her involvement extends to the Arizona Planning Association, Valley Partnership, the Urban Land Institute and she is a former member of the Town of Cave Creek Planning Commission.
